What is a Victron Autotransformer and what does it do? 

A Victron Autotransformer converts voltage between 120V and 240V and balances loads in split-phase systems. In simple terms, it helps your power system supply the right voltage where needed while keeping the load more evenly shared across the system. 

It can step 120V AC up to 240V AC when you need to run higher-voltage equipment from a lower-voltage supply. It can also work the other way, stepping 240V AC down to 120V AC for items that need the lower voltage. 

On split-phase systems, it helps balance uneven loads between the two AC sides. This prevents one side of the system from carrying too much of the load while the other is lightly used, helping the system run more evenly and efficiently. 

Choosing between 32A and 100A Victron Autotransformers 

The Victron Autotransformer 120/240VAC-32A suits smaller systems with lower current needs. If your setup is modest and you're not pulling heavy loads, this is usually the sensible pick. 

The Victron Autotransformer 120/240VAC-100A is built for larger systems where more current flows through. Pick this one when your equipment draws higher loads and the 32A simply won't keep up.
